Corpsegrinder to Chris Barnes: “The Scene Couldn’t Be Better…Kiss Rocks”

0

If you’re a fan of death metal, you’ve no doubt been watching founding Cannibal Corpse vocalist Chris Barnes make a complete ass of himself in public. From having a Twitter tantrum over modern death metal to accusing his former band of price-gouging to blocking anyone who calls him out on Twitter, Barnes has really taken the past two weeks to let us know what a batshit-crazy dumbfuck he is. Now, current Cannibal vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher has responded to Barnes, albeit indirectly, and has done so in the kind of class that makes us proud to say we’d take a bullet for him.

Speaking to Elliot from Little Punk People, Corpsegrinder was pleasant and supportive of the modern scene. And when detractors of that scene came up, he put it simply and perfectly:

“The scene is just as healthy as it’s ever been. It’s just as great as it’s ever been. It’s not dead, it’s not terrible, I’m proud of the death metal scene today. I’m so proud of it, I think it’s amazing. I think there’s so many great bands.

“The scene couldn’t be better. And anyone who thinks otherwise…kiss rocks. Because I’m so proud of the death metal scene.”

Corpsegrinder also takes a moment to tell Elliot to listen to Possessed, “the first death metal band.” Which only makes us want to take even MORE bullets for him.
