Steve Vai Postponed His 2022 Tour Because He Pulled a Tendon While Making Pizza
A couple of weeks ago, legendary guitarist Steve Vai was forced to reschedule his 2022 tour due to a “new injury,” with no further elaboration. But now Vai has explained what happened, and while we hope the guy gets better soon and we know shoulder surgery is complicated, this sounds, well, really fucking silly.
“I have a pizza oven…”
Oh shit! The “new injury” was a brutal third-degree cheese burn? No wonder he had to postpone the tour! Those pizza ovens get hot as balls, and —
“…and I was putting a pizza in the oven and the dough sticks on a little plate, and I had to jerk it really hard to pull it and I tore another [tendon].”
Oh. He, uh…jerked his hand back too fast after putting pizza in the oven. Thus postponing a massive tour.
You’d think that maybe, post-shoulder surgery, Vai would’ve been a little more careful — but then again, we all know what a deep-seated lust for pizza does to a man. We guess?
Anyway, if you want to catch Vai on tour and maybe toss some pizza onstage as a gag, here are the new dates:
