Wolftooth Channel Sabbathian Influence on Latest Single, “Ahab”
You gotta love when a band is honest about their influences rather than trying to play it off like they reinvented the wheel.
With that in mind, I’ll share a quote directly from stoner stalwarts Wolftooth about their latest single, “Ahab:”
“’Ahab’ is a song about revenge and the consequences of achieving it. A classic story of a man’s obsession that leads to his own demise. Sonically, the song stays true to our roots. It’s a Sabbathian tribute to the music we grew up on.”
You haven’t heard the song yet, of course, but I have, and lemme tell ya: “Sabbathian tribute” is dead on! Not that there’s anything wrong with that. The wheel’s been working mighty fine for some 2,500 years already last I checked.
Check out “Ahab” below. Wolftooth’s third full-length album, Blood & Iron, comes out this Friday, December 3 via Napalm Records; pre-order here.
