Zeal & Ardor Release New Song “Golden Liar”

Zeal & Ardor have released “Golden Liar,” the fifth (!) single from their forthcoming eponymous third album.

Five singles. And the thing ain’t even out yet. Man, this band is lucky they’re so talented.

ANYWAY, the new song is kinda in the same vein as the third single from the album, “Bow”: it’s bluesy and soulful and not really at all metal but yes really really good. So it’s not gonna be one of the heaviest songs you hear today, but it might still be one of the best!

(It also bears mentioning that the other three singles — “Götterdämmerung,” “Run,” and “Erase” — are all VERY heavy, so this record clearly isn’t gonna be wanting for more aggro material.)

Frontman Manuel Gagneux says of the track:

“‘Golden Liar’ is one of the tracks on this record I’m most proud of. Unlike singles released previously from the new album, it’s a slow burn. Rather than using harsh tones to convey heaviness, it uses lyrics and atmosphere to convey weight. It’s both smoke and fire.”
