HELL ON EARTH: 61 People Spent Their Weekend Trapped With an Oasis Tribute Band

This has absolutely nothing to do with metal… and yet, it is, without a doubt, the most brutal story I’ve heard in quite some time.

According to The New York Times, a snowstorm recently trapped 61 people inside the Tan Hill Inn in Yorkshire, England… for an entire weekend… with an Oasis tribute band.

SHUDDER.

Making me feel slightly-less-sorry for this lot is that they all gathered willingly on a Friday night to watch the band in question, Noasis.

Making me feel considerably-more-sorry for this lot is that THEY SPENT A WEEKEND TRAPPED WITH AN OASIS COVER BAND. No one deserves that. Well. Maybe Ted Nugent. But no one else.

Unsurprisingly, some of the patrons decided they’d rather risk freezing to death in a snow storm than face the horrors of hearing a faux-Gallagher Brothers play “Champagne Supernova” repeatedly for more than 48 hours:

“Though the roads were not safe to travel, a group of off-roaders took a couple of parents home to their young children, Ms. Townsend said. A local mountain rescue group also helped evacuate a man who needed medical treatment for an ‘ongoing condition.’”

If I was facing down a weekend trapped with an Oasis cover band, I’d develop an “ongoing condition,” too.
