Kiss Guitarist Paul Stanley’s Father Has Died at 101 Years Old
Just this morning we filed an article on Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford and his desire to keep performing until his body no longer allows it. We think of Halford as “old” at 70… but can you imagine if our metal heroes keep it rolling into their 80s, 90s or even beyond??
Metal itself isn’t old enough to have given us that opportunity yet, of course. But the father of Kiss guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley, who died in recent days at the age of 101 years old, has given us reason to think it could be possible.
Stanley, who is himself 69 years old, announced the news that his father, William Eisen, had passed via social media yesterday, November 7, saying:
“My dad William Eisen has left this earth after 101 years & 7 months. His thirst for knowledge never wained. He could speak on virtually any subject. His pride in my accomplishments was heartwarming as was seeing his love of my family. He said he’d always be with me and he will.”
Needless to say, living until 101 could become more of a curse than a blessing, and performing at that age would be nearly impossible. But shew, can you imagine if Ozzy keeps cooking until even 90? It’s not THAT far-fetched at this point. Just a few years ago it was difficult to imagine anyone would still be doing it at 70.
In any case, it’s a blessing that Paul got to spend so many of his years on earth with his father. We wish him and his family the best during this time.
Kiss just wrapped up the U.S. leg of their farwell tour on which both Stanley and bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons caught Covid-19, despite being fully vaccinated (their symptoms were mild). Stanley’s guitar tech, Francis Stueber, who was 53 years old, also caught the coronavirus on the trek and subsequently lost his life.
