Every Time I Die Frontman Offers to Personally Help Disabled Fans at Band’s Shows

0

Those with disabilities can have a difficult time at concerts, with limited access making it hard to get around, poor sight lines from seating areas that have been set aside, unequal access to concessions and other inconveniences that able-bodied folks don’t think twice about. Every Time I Die frontman Keith Buckley wants to do something about it and has made a public offer to any of his band’s fans with disabilities.

Posting to Twitter on Saturday, November 6, Buckley said:

“If anyone has any issues with venues on this tour (or any future tours) not being accommodating for those of you with disabilities please reply and use #etidADA and I’ll personally make sure you are taken care of”

An extraordinary gesture from a fine human being. Every little bit helps. And indeed, a number of the band’s fans responded to Buckley’s tweet with both appreciation for the frontman and stories of their own difficulties at concerts as disabled individuals.

As of the time of Buckley’s tweet, Every Time I Die had played two shows of their fall tour, with the third taking place later that day. It’s not clear if any particular incident inspired Buckley’s tweet, but we’ve reached out for comment and will update this piece if he responds.

This is not the first time Buckley has been vocal about protecting his fans at shows, saying in 2018 that supporters of former president Donald Trump are not welcome.
