Video: Gojira Perform “Adoration for None” Live with Randy Blythe for the First Time Ever
A friend of mine posted a brief video clip of Gojira’s performance in Richmond, VA last night in our group chat with no caption, but none was needed: those flowing dreadlocks quite obviously belonged to Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe, a Richmond native, up on stage with the band. Cool! He guests with them from time to time, as he did recently at Knotfest Iowa.
My friend then claimed it was their first time ever performing the song together to which I replied no, they do this sometimes, linking the above. But he stood firm. They just said so from the stage, he claimed!
Alas, he was right, I was wrong. The song was not “Backbone,” which Blythe and Gojira have performed a handful of times over the years, but “Adoration for None,” a track from The Way of All Flesh (2008) that Blythe co-wrote and sang on. And last night was indeed the first time it’s ever been performed. How cool?
Give it a watch below via fan-filmed footage.
