Primus Postpone Shows Due to Covid-19 Case in Touring Party
Primus have been forced to take a few days off of their currently in-progress tour due to an unspecified member of their touring party becoming infected with Covid-19.
The tour, which was originally set to take place in 2020, sees the band play two sets every night: one of originals, and one consisting of them covering Rush’s 1977 classic, A Farewell to Kings, in its entirety. Wolfmother were scheduled to be the support act for the current leg but couldn’t make it due to visa issues.
The affected dates are as follows:
10/08 Milwaukee, WI – BMO Pavilion
10/09 Kansas City, MO – Grinder’s
10/10 Cedar Rapids, IA – McGrath Amphitheatre
The band commented on social media:
“To our fans in Wisconsin, Missouri, and Iowa – we regret to announce that there has been a confirmed COVID-19 case within the Primus touring party.
“The safety of our fans, crew, venue staff and band are our top priority so out of an abundance of caution, we are postponing our shows in Milwaukee, Kansas City, and Cedar Rapids this weekend. We are working to reschedule the dates and your tickets will be valid at the new dates.
“We appreciate your understanding and support throughout these unprecedented times and we’ll keep you posted with more information soon.”
Other bands that have canceled entire tours this fall or had to miss shows due to the ongoing pandemic include Corey Taylor, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, Korn, the Foo Fighters, Buckcherry, Limp Bizkit, Wolfgang Van Halen’s Mammoth WVH, Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson, Intronaut, Pop Evil, The Skull, Alesana, Light the Torch, Winger, Red Fang, All That Remains, Chevelle and Incubus, to name just a few.
