Sick Dog Fest II: 80 Extreme Metal Bands, 34 Countries, Four Days of Streaming Coming in Late October

All the diseased dogs will be released from the pound later this month as the second annual Sick Dog Fest has finalized its lineup of extreme bands from around the world. The four-day non-profit event will run on two separate double-day periods (October 22-23 and 29-30) and feature performances by the bands via online streaming.

The Argentina, Mexico, and Chile-based festival has collected goregrind, slam, grindcore and death metal bands from 34 countries for this unified underground gathering. Sick Dog Fest organizer Fernando (who also plays in the slam band Smegma from Argentina) tells us of the festival’s philosophy and inception:

“In October 2020, after having made another festival called ‘Argentina Under Fest’ with two bands from each province of Argentina. I decided to invite a friend from Chile and another from Mexico to make a brutal and extreme 100×100 streaming festival, so we began to invite bands that we all like. We achieved the acceptance of many countries, and the truth is that we were very happy. We decided on 80 bands to be able to do 20 walks a day. We believe that this new era has brought us this opportunity to meet bands from all over the world. Not only bands, but also people who share the same feeling as us.”

Artists taking part in the Sick Dog Fest this year include The Chainsaw Gang (Mexico), Rectal Wench (China), Traitor (South Korea), The Noise Bastards (Chile), Brutal Sphincter (Belgium), Pogrom (Argentina), Satan’s Revenge on Mankind (Germany), Decomposed Flesh of Humanity (Peru), Bestial Perception (Argentina), Basement Torture Killings (UK), Lust of Decay (USA), Humanity Eclipse (Italy), Art of Gore (Canada), Prolapsed (Czech Republic), Pervert of Ability (Japan), Vomitous Mass (Russia), Fatuous Rump (Taiwan), Rectal Depravity (Switzerland), Gore Dimension (Turkey), Fecal Addiction (Costa Rica), Organ Busuck (Indonesia), Vile Disgust (Hungary) and a plethora more mangy canines waiting to bring their lurid performance to the masses.

On the specifics of when and how long each band will play, Sick Dog says, “Due to the pandemic and the different restrictions around the world currently in place, it’s kinda hard to play live. So, every band records a live set (15 minutes) and then we will stream it for all our social media, especially YouTube and Facebook.”

Exact streaming times have to be finalized. “We will post day flyers every day with all the time zones for those countries participating in the festival.”

The official call-to-arms on Sick Dog Fest’s website reads: SICK DOG FEST IS AN ONLINE STREAMING EVENT OF GLOBAL INCLUSION, NON-PROFIT, FOCUSED MAINLY ON THE EXTREME MUSICK. IN WHICH ARTISTS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD PARTICIPATE, UNITED WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF SHOWING THE SEEDS OF EXTREME METAL THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.

Keep your eye on Sick Dog Fest’s official Facebook for more updates on when and how to watch.

As for Sick Dog Festival III, Fernando says they already have 25 bands for the next one and a tentative timeframe of December with the goal to eventually have bands representing the whole planet taking part. “We are always attentive to bands from any country that can do a 15-minute show, with good sound and image. We will send them our invitation so that they can join.”
