Watch: Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe Performs Live with Gojira at Knotfest Iowa
Knotfest Iowa, the standalone festival in Slipknot’s home state that also served as the kickoff for their North American tour, took place this weekend at the National Balloon Classic Field, roughly 15 miles south of Des Moines.
The festival has already generated a whole lot of camera-worthy moments and internet chatter — including reports of massive problems with food/water and waste management (more on that later today) — but for now, this video of Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe joining Gojira for a performance of “Backbone” is making the rounds. Randy has taken the stage with Gojira for the song — from Gojira’s breakthrough 2005 record From Mars to Sirius — a number of times over the years when the bands’ itineraries intersect, and this performance looks to be as riveting as any; the crowd is clearly pumped.
Have a look at high quality footage of the performance (albeit only about a minute of it) below. Looks lit!
Lamb of God are about to wrap up their tour with Megadeth, Trivium and Hatebreed (the Canadian dates were canceled due to various members of the touring party not being vaccinated and unable to cross the border). Gojira, meanwhile, are getting ready for their own headline run with Knocked Loose and Alien Weaponry. Dates for that:
