Black Man Bravely Confronts Ted Nugent, Gets Shut Down by White Audience
Ted Nugent, self-proclaimed hero to the Black community, recently got into it with a Black man attempting to defend the Black Lives Matter movement.
According to WWMT, Nugent was speaking at a political rally in Centreville, Michigan. He was expecting 600 attendees; 100 people showed up.
During his speech, Nugent asked the crowd “Aren’t there any BLM punks who want to come up and harass me?”, at which point a man named Jalen Brown approached the stage. Which is really goddamn brave! If he knew anything about Ted Nugent — or could even just read the vibe of the crowd around him — he would know how challenging Nugent was gonna play out. That he still stood up and said something shows exactly the kind of spine Nugent and his fans lack.
To wit: Nugent immediately dehumanized Brown, calling him a “varmint.” Brown seems to have ignored the insult, instead asking the guitarist, “What’s wrong with Black Lives Matter?” To which Nugent replied:
“Black Lives don’t give a shit about Black lives, they’re standing by while Blacks are slaughter each other. Black Lives Matter is a terrorist organization.”
Brown, understandably, says he “took that [comment] personally.” So he tried to remind the crowd that “We’re not here by choice” and “Black lives matter, too.” The predominantly white audience had a predictable reaction, with one man shouting “We didn’t bring you” while others chanted “U-S-A!” and “All lives matter!” and berated Brown as he left the stage.
And lest anyone attempt to defend Nugent, let’s remember that…
i) He once gave an interview where he said Blacks aren’t hard workers and uses the n-word multiple times.
ii) He once wrote an editorial for The Washington Post in which he asserted that “it would have been best had the South won the Civil War.”
iii) He defended South African apartheid: “Besides, apartheid isn’t that cut-and-dry. All men are not created equal.”
iv) He advised American soldiers in Iraq to “just aim for the laundry” (i.e., turbans — and FYI, most Iraqis don’t wear turbans).
v) He claimed Jews are responsible for all gun control legislation and that they “hate freedom, they hate good over evil, they would deny us the basic human right[s].”
vi) He alleged that Black Lives Matter activists posing as Trump supporters were responsible for the seditious riot at the Capitol on January 6, despite the fact that there is no evidence to prove this.
vii) He called COVID-19 “the Chinese shit.”
viii) He brandishes Confederate flags on the regular even though his home state of Michigan was in the Union.
Yeah, somebody give this guy a Nobel Peace Prize, right?
