Zealot R.I.P. (Darkest Hour, Pig Destroyer) Debut New Song and Video, “Covered in Flies”
We are exactly one week away from the release of The Extinction of You, the new album from the “death punk” project Zealot R.I.P. This release should already be on all your calendars — Zealot R.I.P. were always going to be of interest, because their line-up includes guitarist Mike Schleibaum (Darkest Hour) and vocalist Blake Harrison (Pig Destroyer) — but also, as ably demonstrated by the previously-released Extinction singles “Ambush” and “The Red Queen Phenomenon,” this band fucking rules.
Should you somehow be unaware of Extinction‘s impending release, though, the band has now released a third single, “Covered in Flies,” which is every bit as putrid as its title suggests. It’s built around an absolutely flattening elephants marching riff, and, as icing on the cake, arrives with a really cool video, courtesy of Displaced/Replaced. I highly recommend you check it out below.
The Extinction of You comes out September 10 on Three One G Records. Pre-order it here. You might also wanna mark Wednesday in your calendar, ’cause a certain VV cool metal blog will be streaming the whole album that day.
