Havok Split with Bassist Brandon Bruce

Havok, easily one of the best young (e.g., under 50) thrash bands out there, have parted ways with bassist Brandon Bruce, it would seem under amicable circumstances.

Says Bruce in a statement:

“As of a couple weeks ago I have officially left Havok. This is something I thought a lot about and is what I believe is the best decision for myself and the band. I wish them all the best both professionally and personally in the future. I would like to thank everyone that enjoyed what I was able to do with them musically.”

I have nothing against Bruce and hope he’s okay…

…but also, I’m aware that he’s a fairly new member of the band, having made his recording debut with them on last year’s V. That means Havok managed to make four killer albums with Bruce. Put another way: Havok have rocked and will surely continue to rock despite this small speed bump.

We’ll let you know when they announce a replacement.
