History Professor Ted Nugent Has a Death Wish

Here’s something fun Ted Nugent said during his most recent online old man ramble:

“Somebody asked me, ‘Are you vaccinated?’ Yeah. My name is Ted Nugent. I am completely vaccinated — I’ve had all my vaccinations. I haven’t had any unauthorized guinea pig test shots, but I’ve had all my vaccinations. I’ve had all my shots that qualify and are vaccinations, but I haven’t had any experimental shots, and I won’t take any experimental shots. Not only because I know it’s my right, but I think the Nuremberg trials proved that no man, no Nazi or people who try to be Nazis can force anybody to take any medicine or experiment on human beings with untried medicines.”

This is an extraordinary statement. In one fell swoop, Nugent has both demonstrated his complete misunderstanding of history and provided demonstrable proof that the death drive is a very real human instinct.

For any Ted Nugent acolytes who might not know, the Nuremberg Trials to which Nugent refers were held between 1945 and 1949 in order to determine whether or not various high-ranking Nazi officials, military officers, and collaborators had committed war crimes (spoiler alert: they had). It resulted, in part, in The Nuremberg Code, which says that “The voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential” — in other words, that doctors can’t experiment on people without permission.

(And by the way, it takes some real big matzo balls for someone as blatantly anti-Semitic as Ted Nugent to exploit the Nuremberg Trials for his defense. Although being overtly bigoted and then pretending to be some sort of civil rights leader is kind of part of Nugent’s schtick these days.)

So, yeah, if the government was going around giving involuntary people injections of experimental medicine, that would be a violation of The Nuremberg Code.

Of course, that is in no way, shape, or form what is currently happening.

For one thing, the vaccine is completely voluntary. We know this because so many of you schmucks still haven’t gotten it, and you’re making shit way worse for the rest of us by being selfish pricks.

For another thing — and Nugent would know this if he did go get vaccinated, or even just bothered to speak with, like, anyone — the first thing they do when you sit down for your initial shot (assuming you’re getting a two-tier vaccine) is ask about your medical history, read you a whole list of potential side effects/complications that could arise from receiving the vaccination, and ask for — any guesses? — that’s right! — your consent to be given the injection.

In other words, Ted Nugent either doesn’t understand The Nuremberg Code, or is being willfully ignorant. Either possibility seems plausible to me.

On top of all of this, we should remember that the 72-year-old Nugent contracted COVID-19 this past April, after a year of calling the virus a “scam.” But it’s clear that he learned NOTHING from that experience. He would rather keep shoveling his bullshit and RISK HIS FUCKING LIFE then admit that maybe the pro-vaxx people aren’t fascists.

Or he just has shit for brains. I guess that’s possible, too.

Either way, I hope President Biden goes on television soon and says “Only bad people staple their lips shut,” because then Nugent will definitely staple his lips shut, and that will be the end of that. Hey, a fella can dream, can’t he?
