Inferi Unveil New Single/Video, “Mesmeric Horror”

Inferi’s most recent album, Revenant, released in 2018, not only put the band firmly on my radar, but lodged itself in the consciousness of the metal world as a whole, elevating the band to the top of the pack of death metal up-and-comers.

Even before hearing the band’s newest single, “Mesmeric Horror,” I would’ve predicted that Inferi are poised to break out big time with their next release. Now, having heard it, I’m doubling down on that assertion: Inferi are coming for you, me and everyone we know.

Press commonly boasts of technical-oriented groups that the band of the day knows how to write songs instead of haphazardly stitching riffs together. Almost as often, that simply isn’t true, but with Inferi it is; this group of Nashville gentlemen has a keen sense of melody most bands lack, and a distinct one too. You can’t fake that sense of self that makes a band that band.
