Video: Grandma Sings Rob Zombie’s “Dragula” at Karaoke, Nails It
We here at MetalSucks are big fans of the old adage that you’re never too old to rock. From this elderly drummer to this lady rocking out at a Slipknot concert to the 82-year-old man who loves Drowning Pool, the internet has been reliably great at bringing the older population’s passion for metal to the forefront in recent years.
The latest: watch as this older woman, who looks to be in her 60s or 70s, sings Rob Zombie’s “Dragula” at karaoke… and absolutely nails it. More than just reading prompts off a screen, she’s got Zombie’s vocal inflection and tonality perfect; she’s clearly a fan, and has maybe even performed the song before. Some younger folks surrounding her are naturally quite tickled by her performance, rocking out and head-banging as she flawlessly delivers.
A woman in the comments section of the video named Pamela Willis Martin of Mesa, AZ, claims to be the subject of the video. We’re not able to verify that, but we see no reason to doubt her!
The video came out in September of 2020, but was shared by Loudwire today and currently sits at only 52,000 views. Let’s get this thing to a million… she deserves it!
