Cinderella Guitarist Jeff LaBar Has Died
Cinderella guitarist Jeff LaBar has died. He was only 58 years old. No cause of death has been publicly revealed.
TMZ reports that Jeff’s first wife, Gaile LaBar-Bernhardt, found Jeff dead on Wednesday, July 14, inside his apartment in Nashville. Friends and family had been unable to reach him for several days before Gaile went to check on him.
Jeff and Gaile’s son Sebastian revealed the news yesterday on his own social media account, saying:
“So i just got the call… @jefflabar , my father, my hero, my idol, passed away today. I’m currently at a loss for words. I love you pop! ❤️ if you could, please share pictures or video of all the fun times we all had with my dad. It would be greatly appreciated.”
LaBar was not Cinderella’s original guitarist but was their best known, joining in 1985 and performing on all of their studio albums. Their last record was Still Climbing, released in 1994, but the band continued touring sporadically throughout the years. LaBar also released one solo effort and collaborated with his Cinderella bandmate, bassist Eric Brittingham, in a project called Naked Beggars.
On behalf of everyone at MetalSucks, we wish LaBar’s family, friends and bandmates the best during this difficult time.
