Vintage Video: Limp Bizkit Cover Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” With Wes Borland on Vocals in 2001
Some of us are unfortunate enough to remember Limp Bizkit’s lousy cover of Metallica’s “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)” from the 2003 MTV Icon event. That was during the too-brief period when Wes Borland was smart enough not to be in Limp Bizkit.
Far fewer of us are unfortunate enough to remember Limp Bizkit’s somehat-better cover of Metallica’s “Master of Puppets,” which they performed — with Borland handling lead vocals — at the Rock im Park festival in Nuremberg, Germany on June 1, 2001. That show was eventually turned into a pro-shot live DVD, which I’d never even heard of until this morning, when the YouTube algorithm was like “Here you seem stupid try this for a laugh.”
Here you seem stupid try this for a laugh:
Borland recently revealed that Limp Bizkit still haven’t finished their new album because it doesn’t live up to Fred Durst’s high standards. No, seriously, that’s something he said with a straight face.
