System of a Down’s Serj Tankian Will Release a Piano Concerto

System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian has unveiled plans for a piano concerto he composed during the Covid-19 quarantine period, one of several projects he worked on during that time.

In a post to social media, Tankian announced that the 24-minute composition will be released in full on Friday, June 18, along with an official video:

“Incredibly excited to share this unique work of music I created during the Covid lockdown. I challenged myself to collate numerous distinct musical ideas into one long 24 minute modern piano concerto. Here’s a small teaser. Full composition and video will be released June 18.”

Tankian released a rock-oriented solo EP, Elasticity, earlier this year.
