Trivium’s Matt Heafy and Richard Marx Cover “Right Here Waiting”

What’s even better than a metal cover of a classic pop tune? Getting the original artist involved! Which is exactly what Trivium frontman Matt Heafy has done with his latest, a heavied up cover of Richard Marx’s 1989 ballad, “Right Here Waiting,” featuring Mr. Marx himself. There are even death growls in the cover, but alas, those are handled by Heafy, not Marx.

The collaboration came about when Heafy saw Marx’s son wearing a Trivium shirt and decided to hit him up. Heafy explains:

“Richard is one of the greatest songwriters of our time and an incredible incredible human being, so it’s unreal that we were able to create this metal version of his mega-hit together. Stream the heck outta it!”
