Turnstile Debut New Song, “Mystery”

I loved loved loved Turnstile’s 2015 full-length debut, Nonstop Feeling. Its 2018 follow-up, Time & Space, didn’t quite do the job for me, although by no means would I say it was bad, just didn’t blow me away like the first one.

So where does their latest single, “Mystery,” released today, fit into my on-again-off-again relationship with the band? I’m happy to report I like it a lot! We’re on, baby! Not that the band likely gives a shit what I think. But I was recently listening to Jane’s Addiction, reflecting on how I loved that Turnstile’s debut paid homage to that influential but underrated outfit whereas Time & Space didn’t, and I think we’re back to that sound here.

Then again, this is just one song. The band haven’t yet revealed plans for a new album, but I’d venture that’s coming soon. Give “Mystery” a spin below.
