“There Goes the Sun”: Listen to the Latest Single From Dress the Dead (Forbidden, Vio-lence)
I don’t know whether or not Dress the Dead intended for the title of their latest single, “There Goes the Sun,” the be play on the Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun.” But speaking as a total grump, I certainly appreciate having a counterpoint to the Beatles’ ultimate ode to optimism.
I also appreciate the song on its own. I‘ve only known about Dress the Dead for a couple of months, but I’m already way into them.
Listen below. The band includes guitarist Craig Locicero (Forbidden), drummer Mark Hernandez (Forbidden, Vio-lence), bassist James Walker (Manmade God), and vocalist Kayla Dixon (Witch Mountain).
“There Goes the Sun” is the fifth of eight songs Dress the Dead are releasing one month at a time; once all the songs are released, they’ll be collected onto one album. So expected the complete record sometime around August-ish.
Go here to listen to the previously-released tracks “Circus Fleas,” “1969,” “You Only Get off When I Cry,” and “Knives Out.” All of the songs were by Machine Head’s Robb Flynn and mixed by Zach Ohren (Machine Head, Suffocation, All Shall Perish, etc.).
