Alluvial Release Searing New Cut, “Thy Underling”
Alluvial, the progressive metal band formed by Wes Hauch (ex-The Faceless, ex-Black Crown Initiate), have released “Thy Underling,” the second single from their forthcoming album, Sarcoma.
Alluvial initially featured guitarist Keith Merrow (Conquering Dystopia, solo material) alongside Hauch, but Merrow has since departed. The current lineup finds vocalist Kevin Muller (ex-Suffocation, ex-Pyrexia, The Merciless Concept), bassist Tim Walker (ex-Entheos) and drummer Matt Paulazzo (The Zenith Passage, Aegaeon) joining Hauch.
As a big fan of Hauch’s playing over the years, I can say that “Thy Underling” does not disappoint in the riff department: there are some killer chonks here, as well as a magnificent solo. I’m also really digging Muller’s voice for this type of stuff as I did on the first single, “Ulysses.” Great performance by everyone all around!
Give “Thy Underling” a spin below. Sarcoma comes out on May 28.
