Santana’s New Album Will Get a Dose of Heavy From Members of Metallica and Living Colour
We don’t generally associate Carlos Santana with the metal world. But it sounds like the iconic guitarist’s next album, Blessings and Miracles, will have at least a little bit of heavy, courtesy of Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and Living Colour’s Corey Glover.
“[M]y brother Kirk Hammett from Metallica is playing [on it],” Santana tells ABC News Radio. “He’s tearing it up.”
While Hammett is a sure thing, apparently Glover only “may” appear on the final release. Hopefully that happens — Glover has pipes, bruh, and I bet there’s a healthy dose of older Santana fans who aren’t that familiar with him. I mean, Santana demeaned himself to the point of working with the twit from Matchbox Twenty; he’s be a goddamn fool not to include Glover on his record.
ANYWAY, in case you’re wondering if this means Carlos Santana sometimes rocks out to “Disposable Heroes” or “Desperate People,” the answer, ABC tells us, is “not necessarily”:
“Interestingly, Hammett and Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid both contributed to the latest studio album by Carlos’ wife, Santana drummer Cindy Blackman Santana, 2020’s Give the Drummer Some.”
