Municipal Waste, Revocation & Inter Arma Members Guest on Megadeth Drummer’s Latest Grind Track
Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren has been keeping the quarantined masses entertained for the past year with the “Instagrind” series of singles from his long-running grindcore project, Bent Sea.
The latest of those, “Downed at a Gulp,” sees Verbeuren handing over drum duties to the legendary Dave Witte (Municipal Waste, ex-Burnt By The Sun, etc.) while handling the guitars himself, tapping Inter Arma frontman Mike Paparo for vocals and getting an assist from Revocation’s Brett Bamberger on bass.
Metal’s only Dirk commented of the collaboration:
“When Dave Witte’s behind the kit, you know the blast beats are gonna have that swing! What a pleasure to have Dave contribute to the Instagrind. Together with Brett and Mike, they brought their A-game to the D-beat. The resulting track slides down the esophagus like a knife in butter!”
Stream “Downed at a Gulp” below, and check out the previous entries in the Instagrind series here or on Bandcamp.
Megadeth’s new album, which is tentatively titled The Sick, the Dying and the Dead, should be out later in 2021.
