Following EP, Protest the Hero’s Rody Walker Will Release an Entire Album Later This Month
Protest the Hero frontman Rody Walker unveiled Sharks Fly, his first ever solo release, last Friday, February 26. The three-track EP saw him handling all instruments, programming and vocals.
Now Walker has said “fuck it” — literally — deciding to release an entire album of solo material later this month.
Posting on Twitter, the same platform he used (albeit sparsely) to communicate all details about the EP, he said:
“Thanks to everyone who checked out my Sharks Fly EP yesterday. Fuck it man, I’m gonna release another 8 song record at the end of March.”
And that’s it. That’s all we know. Clearly Walker is operating entirely independently here, unbeholden to a record label, promo schedule or outside forces of any kind… he’s just letting the creativity flow and going from there. That’s pretty darn cool even if it means less in the way of videos and other promo materials that typically serve to hype up the public on what’s coming.
We will, of course, keep you posted, although it sounds like you won’t need to wait long. In the meantime, get acquainted with Sharks Fly below if you haven’t yet.
