Exclusive Track Premiere: “Blind Crow” by Iran’s Out of Nowhere

0

If Out of Nowhere‘s particular brand of djent and metalcore seems particularly impassioned, that’s for a good reason: the Mashad, Iran-based project has been one of the most active metal bands in a country where heavy music is illegal. Every time they play live or record and release a new song, they are, very literally, risking their freedom, and perhaps their very lives. They are metal’s penchant for rebellion taken to its most extreme.

The band tells MetalSucks:

“Being a metal musician in Iran is a big risk. Starting from the overpriced rare instruments to the risk of being arrested each second. We played some sold-out shows but the risk of being arrested is with us even right now when I’m writing this. It’s a big crime and if they arrest you, there will be years of prison or even in some cases execution for us.

“But we are born to do this, so we accept the risk and do what we love to do.”

MetalSucks is proud to debut “Blind Crow,” the latest song for which Out of Nowhere have risked everything. Although the band’s bravery might be what first gets your attention, their top-notch songwriting and musicianship will most certainly keep you interested regardless. If you dig bands like Born of Osiris and Veil of Maya, you are going to LOVE Out of Nowhere.

Blast “Blind Crow” below. It will be released on all DSPs tomorrow, Tuesday, February 23; pre-save it here.
