Watch Motörhead’s “Over the Top” Performance from Upcoming Live Release
Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee. The classic Motörhead lineup, and the longest serving by a considerable distance (Phil joined in 1984, Mikkey in 1992, and the band played as a trio from 1995 until the band’s final show in 2015).
And that’s the one that’s been immortalized on a new concert film shot on December 5, 2012, at the Berlin Velodrom, when Motörhead played one of their biggest-ever German gigs to 12,000 delirious, delighted and demented fans during the Kings of The Road Tour.
On April 23, Silver Lining Music will release Louder Than Noise… Live in Berlin on CD with bonus DVD, double vinyl and via streaming platforms. Pre-order it right here.
The whole night was captured by Herwig Meyszner, who has also produced concert films for the likes of Saxon, Exodus and Kreator, with a multi-camera shoot that captures not just the energy onstage but the energy on the floor.
The filmmakers have released the band’s performance of “Over the Top,” a B-Side from their 1979 release, Bomber, that’s become a cult favorite in Motörhead lore. You can watch that clip below to whet your appetite for the live set, the tracklisting of which includes:
