Harakiri for the Sky Cover Placebo’s “Song to Say Goodbye”
Harakiri for the Sky’s style is so singular that I reckon most listeners who stumble upon their cover of Placebo’s 2006 offering, “Song to Say Goodbye,” won’t know the Finnish melodoom band didn’t write it. I certainly wouldn’t have! They’ve made it completely their own.
Singer J.J. comments:
“The reason we chose ‘Song to say goodbye’ is because it played a very important role for me the summer before I finished high-school. I moved out of my parents’ home and started a new chapter in life. And generally it was a yeasty time. And M.S. couldn’t chose a song anyway as he likes every song of Placebo’s album ‘Meds’.”
You can listen to the cover below. Previous singles from Harakiri for the Sky’s upcoming album, Mӕre, include “I’m All About the Dusk,” “And Oceans Between Us,” and “Sing for the Damage We’ve Done,” the latter of which features Alcest vocalist Neige.
