Blisskrieg, Featuring Three-Quarters of Days of the New and Tantric, Debut First Single
You might not know Todd Whitener, Jesse Vest and Matt Taul by name, but you definitely know their music: as the primary musical vehicle and three-fourths of both Days of the New and Tantric, the trio are responsible for some of the late ’90s and early ’00s biggest hard rock hits.
After nearly 20 years apart, Whitener, Vest and Taul have reunited in Blisskrieg. Those who never cared much for their previous bands on account of their yarler vocals will find an antidote in the form of Donald Carpenter, formerly of Submersed and Eye Empire, whose sweet, mid-range voice is anything but the dreaded full-throated neo-grunge trademark. (Full disclosure: I absolutely loved some of those Tantric tunes!).
And, no surprise: the trio (plus Carpenter) have turned in an insanely catchy debut with their very first single, “Inside Me.” You’ll recognize Whitener’s trademark guitar leads and layered vocal harmonies right away, and by the time the tune’s done you’ll be singing along. Would recommend!
Blisskrieg promise their debut album will come out later this year.
