Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda Will Produce Your Music Live on Twitch
I’m not a nu-metal person. But if I was, I’d tip my backwards red baseball cap to Linkin Park frontman Mike Shinoda, who has made a fairly incredible offer to fans: he’ll produce their music for them live on his Twitch channel.
Explains Shinoda:
“For 2021, I wanted to find a way to give back to my amazing community online. I’m looking for vocalists, rappers, and songwriters who need help getting to the next level. If I find someone great, I’ll produce their track, live on my Twitch channel. There’s no formal contest, just an intention. The fans on Twitch will help me find the right vocalists. my only ‘rules’ are 1.) I’m not doing vocals, 2.) I’d like the artist to only contribute vocals and one instrument, nothing filled-out, just the ‘song,’ and 3.) no back-seat producing, the track has to be in my hands until I feel like I’m done. If you want to participate, go talk to the fans on Twitch.tv/OfficialMikeShinoda“
It’s hard to fathom what the dude who wrote “Numb” would consider “great,” but he’s at least heard of Meshuggah and Botch, so maybe you have a shot at this even if your songwriting skills are actually, like, good and stuff?

Linkin Park have been inactive since singer Chester Bennington’s suicide in 2017. But Shinoda has made it clear he’s open to continuing the band without Bennington, and in August, Linkin Park bassist Dave “Phoenix” Farrell said the band has been working on new material.
Shinoda, meanwhile, released Dropped Flames Vol 1, an instrumental album inspired by his live Twitch streams, this past July.
