Albuquerque’s Metalhead Mayor Wore a Machine Head Hoodie to the Polls
Y’all remember Tim Keller, doncha? The 42-year-old is the mayor of Albuquerque and, oh hey wouldn’t ya just know it, a metalhead who has no compunction about using every possible opportunity to fly the flag for extreme music. The day after he was sworn into office in 2017, he introduced Trivium in front of a roaring crowd; in 2018, he welcomed Anthrax to the city, proclaiming “I believe in the power of metal!”; last year, he signed a bill while rocking a Pantera Christmas sweater…
…and then, just yesterday!, he went to the polls in a Machine Head hoodie (photos via Keller’s Twitter account):
Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn subsequently re-tweeted Keller’s photos with this message:
“Shout out to Mayor Tim Keller of Albuquerque for flying the MH colors while voting!!”
Oh, and in case you’re wondering: Keller is a Democrat, so he probably voted for Biden.
Meanwhile, as of this writing, we still don’t know who won the election. Which we knew would probably be the case weeks, if not months, ago. But still. We’re on the edges of our seats over here.
