Metallica Announce Acoustic Pay-Per-View Livestream Benefit Concert
Metallica’s All Within My Hands charity foundation has been very generous since its launch a few years back, donating proceeds from Metallica concerts and auctions to causes benefiting wildfire relief, education, Covid-19 frontline workers and more. The band is now poised to continue that streak with what will be their second benefit concert, this time as a livestreamed pay-per-view event.
The first All Within My Hands Foundation Helping Hands Concert took place on November 3, 2018, and ultimately raised $1.3 million. The second one had initially been slated for March 28, 2020, was rescheduled to September 28 in light of the pandemic, and now has been moved again to the virtual format. The acoustic show will stream live from Metallica HQ on Saturday, November 14 at 5pm EST / 2pm PST.
Details of the AWMH Helping Hands auction items and experiences, as well as how to bid on them, will be made available closer to the date of the show.

“Metallica and All Within My Hands are committed to running an organization of the highest integrity where expenses are kept to a minimum and are paid for entirely by the band, the board, and friends who have worked with the band over many years and are excited to help in this mission. As always, 100% of proceeds from this years Helping Hands event—tickets, fees and auction items—will go directly to help those in need, with Metallica and the foundation covering all production costs and expenses.”

Metallica have been working on new song ideas remotely during the pandemic, with James Hetfield, Lars and Kirk Hammett all recently saying they’ve been writing independently with plans to jam together in a “bubble” some time later this year. The band hosted a pre-recorded drive-in concert in August at hundreds of outdoor movie theaters and just released a recording of last year’s S&M2 concert, which beat out Katy Perry for top-selling new album in its first week of release. Meanwhile, a re-worked version of “Nothing Else Matters” is slated to appear in the upcoming Disney film, Jungle Cruise.
