Alex Skolnick Wrote an Anti-Trump Rap

Alex Skolnick already has a long history of working in genres outside of metal… and now he can add hip-hop to his resumé.

The Testament guitarist has released a new rap song called “Trump Sucks,” and he doesn’t mean that in a tongue-in-cheek MetalSucks kinda way. In the past year, Skolnick, like a lot of us, has been struck by a need to speak out against this abhorrent administration. In February, he endorsed Elizabeth Warren for president (he has since thrown his full support behind Joe Biden and Kamala Harris). In March, he called Trump’s response to the pandemic “horseshit.” And just a few days ago, he implored fans to vote and boot Trump out of office.

It was that last post, apparently, that inspired “Trump Sucks”:

“This song just poured out of me yesterday. It was completed in a matter of hours. To all the # Trump2020 and # Maga folks who’ve been flooding my timelines ever since my post the other day about the election, I’d like to say thank you, sincerely. You’ve inspired me to do something a bit different (for me, anyway): Rapping Enjoy! ????(#bidenharris2020)”
