Chimaira’s Mark Hunter Releases Conan the Barbarian Cover, Has a Fly Collection of JNCOs

Chimaira frontman Mark Hunter’s has long been a fanatic when it comes to Conan the Barbarian (the Milius/Stone/Ahnuld version, not the Momoa version, obvi). In fact, if I’m not mistaken, a quote from the film used to be his e-mail signature. I know that because I have a sweet industry gig.

Hunter has now taken his love of Conan to the next level, covering the track “Anvil of Crom” from the movie’s score. That score was originally composed by the great Basil Poledouris, who was a master at composing music for testosterone-fest adventures of yesteryear (he also did Robocop, Starship Troopers, and The Hunt for Red October).

Says Hunter of the track:

“Initially composed by Basil Poledouris and performed by a 94 piece orchestra – I had no idea what I was getting into or how overwhelming of a project it would be. But alas, Crom granted me revenge, and I was able to pull it together. Please enjoy my rendition.”

You can check out Hunter’s heavy AF take on “Crom” below.

In related news, Hunter has been showing off his dope collection of JNCOs via social media and his Twitch channel (whilst rocking out to Korn, no less). You can check out super-sexy pics at the bottom of this post. Apparently if he gets to 500 Twitch followers, he’ll wear the damn things to the mall, so make sure you subscribe to his channel ASAP.
