There’s an Action Figure of Power Trip’s Riley Gale Now
The metal world continues to mourn the loss of Power Trip frontman Riley Gale, who died last month of undisclosed causes at only 34 years old. Some folks have paid tribute to Riley with cover songs, some have done it with news broadcasts, some have posted street art in his honor, and some have shared good old fashioned words.
But it’s the latest example of love directed Riley’s way that takes the cake: a custom action figure, complete with Obituary longsleeve and Riley’s unmistakeable facial hair and shoulder-length locks.
The action figure is a one-of-a-kind item made by Mr. Cooke Customz, a Manchester, UK-based artist, meaning these are not for sale, and the only one in existence will likely live on Cooke’s shelf forever. But damn, what a tribute! I only wish Riley could have known how many peoples’ lives he touched, and in such a profound way, to inspire the kind of collective outpouring and creativity I’ve rarely seen in the metal community.
Cooke has quite an impressive arsenal of custom action figures displayed on his Instagram page, including some relevant to the rock and metal crowd: Axl Rose (Use Your Illusion-era with black jersey and kilt), Nekorgoblikon, Bathory (a goat, lol), Beastie Boys, Gaahl, Post Malone, Liam Gallagher (Oasis) and more.
