Iron Age Guitarist Wade Allison Has Died
Wade Allison, guitarist for Texas thrash band Iron Age, has died. The cause of death has not been revealed publicly.
Allison’s death comes less than a month after the passing of Power Trip frontman Riley Gale, who said in a 2017 interview with The Guardian, “Power Trip definitely wouldn’t be the band we are without Iron Age. Those guys are sort of like our older brothers, and showed me a lot of really good music, not just thrash metal but a lot of cool shit in general. […] The way Wade Allison writes his riffs is like no other guitar player that I can name.” Power Trip drummer (and former guitarist) Chris Ulsh also played guitar in Iron Age.
Iron Age released two albums, Constant Struggle in 2006 and The Sleeping Eye in 2009, the latter of which MetalSucks premiered to the world that year, as well as several singles, the last of which arrived in 2011.
Another devastating loss to the Texas metal scene. On behalf of everyone at MetalSucks, we wish Wade’s family, friends and bandmates all the best during this difficult time.
