Watch Trivium Perform Power Trip’s “Executioner’s Tax (Swing of the Axe)”
As part of Trivium’s “The Deepest Cuts” livestream event this past weekend, which saw the band perform a set of rarities from throughout their catalogue, the band paid tribute to late Power Trip frontman Riley Gale with a cover of the band’s flagship song, “Executioner’s Tax (Swing of the Axe).”
A video of Trivium’s entire livestream is now available, and you can find the Power Trip cover at the 01:27:40 mark if the queueing up I’ve done in the embed doesn’t work for you. The two bands toured together in 2018, and Trivium frontman Matt Heafy shared a few thoughts about that experience as well as those with Riley in more recent times before launching into the song. After the song, Heafy offered his vocal services to Power Trip if needed. Watch below.
