Video Premiere: Meridian Dawn, “Luminescent”

Melodic death metal of the Scandinavian (or Scandinavian-inspired) variety has been going strong for over two decades now, so it’s a wonder bands continue to find ways to keep the genre fresh and interesting.

Enter Meridian Dawn, who have been together for ten years but finally released their first full length earlier this summer. What makes this group worth your while in the saturated melodeath marketplace? We’d argue it’s the added dose of Darkest Hour-style punk influence in the vocals. That in and of itself isn’t wholly original, but you simply don’t hear it very much anymore, and in this context it’s a breath of fresh air.

Meridian Dawn just finished a music video for their song “Luminescent,” and MetalSucks is chuffed to premiere it to the world today. Bands continue to find ways to make music videos interesting in the quarantine era, and Meridian Dawn have done it via the use of some vertigo-inducing CGI. Give it a spin below.
