The Acacia Strain Frontman: “Stop Liking My Band if You Don’t Think Black Lives Matter”
The Acacia Strain frontman Vincent Bennett, usually a potent voice of reason and an entertaining follow on Twitter, has been quiet of late, with only a handful of retweets since May.
But his first tweet back in some time is quite a doozy, simple and to the point, while acknowledging his recent silence:
“Hi it’s been a while please stop liking my band if you don’t think black lives matter.”
What sparked this wicked return to form? Some combination of general internet assholery and the sad state of affairs in America right now compelled him to speak out, I’d guess. Not that we’re surprised to see Vincent coming out strongly on the right side of history. But this much is certain: we are here for it! Others are too; the tweet has collected 2.3k likes and over 300 retweets as of this moment, with both tallies steadily climbing.
The Acacia Strain’s new album, Slow Decay, came out in July; order here.
