Kataklysm Guitarist Has Covid-19 with “Severe Symptoms”

Kataklysm guitarist Jean-François Dagenais has tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently experiencing “severe symptoms.”

The band shared the news on social media yesterday afternoon, saying:

“We regret to inform everyone that our guitarist and founding member J-F Dagenais has tested positive for COVID 19 after experiencing severe symptoms, we will give you an update on his condition during the next few days.”

The Dallas, TX area, where Dagenais currently lives, has reported 68,572 cases of the virus since testing began in March, with 855 confirmed deaths.

No further information is available, but we have to imagine that the situation is indeed quite serious if the band felt the need to post on social media about it. We wish him all the best and a speedy recovery.

Other prominent members of the metal community to come down with Covid-19 in recent months include Machine Head’s Robb Flynn, Testament’s Chuck Billy and Death Angel’s Will Carroll.
