Quiet Riot Drummer Frankie Banali Dead at Age 68
Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali has passed away after a protracted battle with stage IV pancreatic cancer. He was 68 years old.
Banali was diagnosed in the spring of 2019. He has been in and out of the hospital since, most recently after having a stroke earlier this month.
Banali joined Quiet Riot in 1982 and appeared on their most successful releases, including 1983’s Metal Health. That album sold more than ten million copies worldwide and went on to become the first metal album ever to reach the #1 position on the Billboard 200.
Banali re-formed Quiet Riot in 2010. Founder and frontman Kevin Dubrow died in 2007 from a cocaine overdose.
Banali is survived by his wife, Regina, and his daughter, Ashley.
Our thoughts are with Banali’s loved ones during this difficult time.
