Exclusive Album Premiere: Buried Realm’s Embodiment of the Divine
When Buried Realm, the one-man death metal project helmed by multi-instrumentalist Josh Dummer, released its debut album in 2017, The Ichor Carcinoma, we marveled at the list of notable guest musicians — which included members of The Black Dahlia Murder, Septicflesh, ex-Arch Enemy, Nightrage, ex-Soilwork, Wintersun and more — and joked that Dummer had utterly failed by not inviting anyone from Scar Symmetry to participate.
Dummer seems to have taken that criticism to heart on his sophomore effort, which includes just as notable a list of guests… including Scar Symmetry guitarist Benjamin Ellis! Also on the record: Andy Gillion (Mors Principium Est), Bob Katsionis (ex-Firewind), Dean Arnold (Operus, ex-Vital Remains), Lee McKinney (Born of Osiris), Peter Wichers (ex-Soilwork), Rafael Trujillo (ex-Obscura) and Ryan Strain (Chaos For The Masses). Yowza!
MetalSucks is beyond stoked to premiere Embodiment of the Divine, Buried Realm’s second album, to the world today. Mainman/onlyman Dummer tells us of the album and the above collaborations:
“After nearly three years of creating ‘Embodiment of the Divine,’ I am very pleased to present and share this album with everyone. I’m honored to be joined by a number of guests that have influenced my writing and playing over the years. Their contributions have truly helped bring the album to another level.”
Like its predecessor, this one’s an absolute ripper on the more technical / heavy side of the melodic death metal coin. Jam it below! Embodiment of the Divine comes out this Friday, July 24 in all the usual places; pre-order here.
