Necrophobic Blast Out Frosty, Charred New Single, “Mirror Black”

Watching Necrophobic blast apart a few hundred early-afternoon onlookers on the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise a couple of years back is one of my more enduring memories of that sea-faring endeavor. Was it just what I needed at that time of day? The frosty tall boy of Foster’s in hand? The fact that my familiarity with the band to that point was only cursory? Or simply that they kicked fucking ass? Likely some combination of all of those things, but I tell you this, once again: it’s one of my more enduring memories of that sea-faring endeavor. Also, once again: they kicked fucking ass. All sorts of sweaty, gross, pasty 70,000 Tons of Metal ass.

The blackened death metal legends are back with a new song and video, “Mirror Black,” to kick off the campaign for their next album, Dawn of the Damned, due October 9 via Century Media (pre-order here). It’s an absolute ripper of frosty, black-charred death metal, and it’s just what you need this morning — it’s 8:59am as of the time I’m writing this sentence — or, frankly, whenever you happen upon this article.
