Corey Taylor is Filming a Wrestling-Themed Music Video for His Solo Album
Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, The Most Important Person in Metal By Any And All Measures, has been teasing a solo album since last summer, working on it sporadically whenever he can find the time. Pandemic = the time, whatwith all the canceled tours and such, so the singer announced in May that the album is all done and recorded. The latest update: he’s filming a music video for what will presumably be the album’s first single.
Taylor posted a 15-second video to Twitter from the set of a video shoot yesterday evening. Standing in front of four huge letters that read CMFT (presumably shorthand for “Corey Mother Fucking Taylor”) with a wrestling belt draped over his shoulder, Corey says, “We are back, behind the scenes, filming the video for [bleeped out title]. As you can see I’ve got the championship right here, and if anybody wants to take it… bring it the fuck on.” The post also included the caption #CMFT.
Taylor recently revealed the band lineup for the album will consist of four other human beings not nearly as important as Jesus Himself:
- Christian Martucci (Stone Sour) – guitar
- Jason Christopher (Prong, Corey Taylor & Friends) – bass
- Dustin Schoenhofer (Walls of Jericho) – drums
- Zach Throne (Greg Brady’s singing voice in The Brady Bunch Movie) – guitar
