Wisconsin County With Rising COVID-19 Rate to Host ‘Herd Immunity Fest’ W/ Static-X, Nonpoint
This is too soon. And I mean that literally and in terms of good taste.
I mean. Can you imagine being the schmuck who contracted the coronavirus while watching Flaw? Can you imagine dying from a case of COVID-19 that you contracted while watching fucking Thunderstruck: America’s AC/DC Tribute???
Next month, fans in the vicinity of Ringle, WI will have the chance to roll the dice on just such a proposition: what’s been dubbed ‘Herd Immunity Fest’ (as in “The dopes at the Dope show didn’t have herd immunity, so all their grandmothers are dead now”) has been announced for July 16-18 at The Q&Z Expo Center. Wisconsin has already repealed most of its measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus… although Ringle, it seems worth mentioning, is in Marathon County, where COVID-19 has recently been on the rise, according to The New York Times.
The spreading-coronavirus-worthy line-up is as follows:
- Static-X
- Nonpoint
- Dope
- Bobaflex (reunion show)
- Blacktop Mojo
- Royal Bliss
- Flaw
- Kaleido
- SAUL
- Versus Me
- ONE – Metallica Tribute Band
- Thunderstruck: America’s AC/DC Tribute
The festival will take place outside, presumably to allow social distancing… although a social media post announcing the show doesn’t actually say anything about social distancing. I also can’t figure the capacity of the outdoor area; the indoor area of the venue apparently holds 786 people.
