Video of Doro’s Drive-In Concert Suggests Drive-In Concerts May Not Be the Future of Live Music
When Doro first announced that she was gonna play a drive-in concert in Worms, Germany on June 13, I was all, “Well, a drive-in metal show sounds kinda lame, but I’d give it a try.”
Now that Doro has shared video from that concert, I’d like to amend my statement to “Well, a drive-in metal show sounds kinda lame.”
Although I’m sure that time Doro walked near their car shall forever be a cherished memory for these fans, this just feels incredibly awkward to me (not helping: none of the attendees appear to be between the ages of 11 and 45). I definitely cannot imagine it working with heavier artists.
Also, I’m no doctor, but I think a lot of people here are not adhering to polite social distancing etiquette, which defeats the purpose of this being a drive-in concert in the first place.
Thanks: Doro Pesci
