Memphis May Fire Singer Matty Mullins Apologizes for Use of Racial Slur
Matty Mullins, singer for Memphis May Fire, has apologized after audio of him using a racial slur emerged on social media.
A tweet making the accusation began circulating earlier this week:
According to Lambgoat, “Shortly thereafter, recordings of purported examples surfaced.”
Mullins subsequently issued an apology in which he says that he use fo the slur was an ill-advised joke, stating:
“I’ve learned just how powerful words can be, from the stage and interviews all the way to a private or light hearted conversation. My choice of language back then showed a lack of judgment and understanding of how hurtful words can truly be, and for that I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart.”
