System of a Down Drummer: “I Don’t See Us Recording – We’re Pretty Stupid About That”
All four members of System of a Down members have been very clear that while they get along just fine and enjoy touring together, new music isn’t in the cards. But that hasn’t stopped interviewers from asking anyway, nor has it stopped eager SOAD fans from flocking to sites like this one every time we run a headline on the topic. So, here ya go with yet another!
System drummer John Dolmayan, who recently released an album with his These Grey Men project, has conducted a new chat with Paltrocast, and when asked what plans the band has for the future, here’s how he answered:
“Probably just touring. I don’t see us recording – we’re pretty stupid about that. We haven’t released an album in 15 years, and I think the people in my band are more stubborn or less stubborn, so it’s pretty unlikely.”
That quote echoes the one he gave previously, and the one before that, and before that and on and on and on… but there it is again in case you need to hear something every friggin’ day to believe it.
Elsewhere in the interview, which you can read a transcription of at Ultimate Guitar, Dolmayan discusses his love of Keith Moon, disinterest in hair metal and Kiss in the ’70s and ’80s, his fitness regimen and more.
